1. Gravatar Service

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. 2. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

3. Cookies

We use cookies to enhance your experience on our site:

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
  • Temporary cookies are set upon visiting our login page to determine if your browser accepts cookies, containing no personal data and discarded when you close your browser.
  • Upon login, we set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices, with login cookies lasting two days and screen options cookies for a year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends your login persistence to two weeks.
  • Editing or publishing an article saves an additional cookie in your browser, indicating the post ID of the article you just edited, expiring after 1 day.

4. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Such content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website, potentially collecting data, using cookies, or embedding additional third-party tracking.

5. Data Sharing

Your data may be shared under specific circumstances, such as if you request a password reset, wherein your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely for follow-up comments recognition and approval. For registered users, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile, accessible for editing or deletion at any time (username changes not permitted). Administrators can also see and edit this information.

7. Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data provided to us. You may also request erasure of your personal data, excluding data retained for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

8. Data Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
